    Peace,

Thank you Tom. I thank Father for hearing and answering your prayer while out at sea. It reminded me of the scripture I had just this morning been given. The waters were calmed and the wind. Amen.

I was seeking the word daily and came across your writing. I was seeking truth as I saw a You Tube video today about Daniel and what DAILY meant. I was not feeling in my Spirit truth after watching the video and hope that you will and give me your thoughts.

I think Tom is spot on about the daily. I believe it will be the laws and times that will change and the Sabbath is one to be changed for sure.

The You Tube subscription is 777aej it was a video for today July 18th 2012.

Cassie, I received your email about the “daily” today, I have been working on this puzzle for many years; that is just what it is, a puzzle. I believe, as you have stated, that there is light in what I have found. I would like you to watch the following You Tube clip. I am sorry for the length but I cannot change that. Because there is so much confusion on this subject I felt I needed to lay it out very clearly using the Word. I felt much like what you felt when you were watching the short 18-minute clip; I could hardly watch the whole thing even though it was only 18 minutes. I am sorry – she is basing all her conclusions (not sure what that even was) on such a poor foundation. I never did understand her conclusion, was she saying that this somehow has to do with the American government? If she is, this could not be further from the truth. If she is talking about something in the Middle East she was not at all clear about that.

I believe if you think there is light in the article that I have put into print you will really enjoy the video presentation on the “daily” that I did earlier this year. I have put the link below which will take you to my You Tube Channel. I have a few others I am sure you will like also. I will warn you, my presentations are not 10 or 15 minutes because they are thorough and filled with Scripture. I do not apologize for the length because there is no other way; if I do not include all the Scriptures it just looks like my opinion. I guarantee, if you watch it, you will not regret it. I know people these days want the short and sweet version but there is no way to arrive at the important truths of Scripture like the “daily” without really searching it out. I have made a very good case for the daily in that paper but even more so in the video, It is a two-part presentation, please watch them in their entirety. Do check out the 3-part prophecy series also, I have been getting some very good feed back on this series.

Let me know what you think.

Blessings to you and your house.

Doesn’t this make us wonder what is Israel’s daily today? Or perpetual/continual? I am going to research if folks of Israel pray morning and evening at the Western Wall. It’s curious how Jesus at the beginning of Matthew chapter 24 said “see-all-these/this? I tell you, not one stone will be left here one upon another.”

When they (the world beast/body) rule to take away Israel’s daily, as we know, it is a prominent sign marking a measure of time, in Danial 12, verses 11 and 12. (Verse 12 – What desolates in very last days? To fulfill the agenda of changing laws of life.. And what “happy” event occurs 45 days after it is set up?)

I did a search for ‘daily sacrifice taken away’ and this article popped up. I was reading Daniel, and of course prophesy is fascinating, so I wanted to know more about if the ‘daily’ was still going on. I’m so happy I found this! Thank you both for the article. Just this morning I was regretting that I hadn’t taken my daily appointments with God over the past 2 days to pray in the morning and evening, and this is exactly what I needed to read today. 🙂

I have studied Daniel 7-12, and Revelation for years. I am in agreement with your article. My question has been on the 1260 days, or time, times and half a time. Some put this period in the past, some in the future, I think the future, the church I belong to thinks the past!!!

My heart and mind tell me Jesus wants us to get this right; that soon this time period will be in the present tense. And will we recognize it?

PS: Wasn’t it in approx. 300 AD the pope and Constantine changed Sabbath to Sunday?

I’m glad you were able to agree with Tom’s article. If we are diligent Bible students, I believe we will understand such time prophecies when appropriate and certainly when they become “present tense.” I can see 1260 days in the past as an application of the prophecy but not as its ultimate fulfillment.

This page compares the various mentions of this time period. It points out an obvious problem – the time periods of 1260 days and time, times and a half (3 ½ years) and the third one that you didn’t mention – 42 months are not equal using our present-day calendar.

This page describes a possible way that they could all become equal again. It involves some rather cosmic events. However, you will see that the documentation provided gives considerable evidence that, at one time in the past, they were equal.

Yes, it was in about 321 AD that Constantine, the Roman Emperor at the time, (nominally) accepted Christianity and made the move to sanctify Sunday (in defiance of the fourth commandment which designates the seventh-day Sabbath as the holy day). Wikipedia’s article on Constantine the Great says “Later in 321, Constantine instructed that Christians and non-Christians should be united in observing the venerable day of the sun, referencing the sun-worship that Aurelian had established as an official cult.”

While Constantine’s proclamation of the Edict of Milan decreed religious tolerance, his other actions introduced many pagan practices into Christianity. It seems that true Christianity did better when it was persecuted.

    Thought it was about Food

Your comment and question; All this time I believed the “daily sacrifice” being taken away was food. That we couldn’t buy or sell food unless we received to mark of the beast. What I gather from this article is that the Daily sacrifice” being taken away pertains to how we worship. Is this correct?

You make an interesting point, I do believe food is connected to the controversy at the time of the end, no question about it.

Question: what text/texts do you use to draw this conclusion? I can think of one.

“Give us this day our “daily” bread.” (Matt 6:11)

This word “daily” here is a completely different word than is used in:

“How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot?” (Dan 8:12)

“And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.” (Dan 11:31)

    The daily is connected to the Sanctuary services. This same word is used in;

“And you shall say to them, ‘This is the offering made by fire which you shall offer to the LORD: two male lambs in their first year without blemish, day by day, as a regular daily—morning and evening sacrifice burnt offering. one will be sacrificed in the morning, and the other in the evening.” (Num 28:3-4)

“Then one of the holy angels asked another, “When will the daily sacrifices be offered again? What about this horrible rebellion? When will the temple and heaven’s army no longer be trampled in the dust?” The other answered, “It will be two thousand three hundred evenings and mornings before the temple is dedicated and in use again.” (Dan 8:13-14)

Daniel seemed to understand what this word “daily” referred to as he did not ask its meaning but for how long would this daily be taken away. The story in Daniel 6 seems to unlock this door of mystery.

“All of your officials, leaders, advisors, and governors agree that you should make a law forbidding anyone to pray to any god or human except you for the next thirty days. Everyone who disobeys this law must be thrown into a pit of lions.” (Dan 6:7)

Daniel, first hand experienced his daily being taken away, this time for 30 days. It had to do with worship.

“Daniel heard about the law, but when he returned home, he went upstairs and prayed in front of the window that faced Jerusalem. In the same way that he had always done, he knelt down in prayer three times a day, giving thanks to God.” (Dan 6:10)

The morning and evening worship was required by God in His law. Daniel’s practice was three times as it was for many Israelites. David said in Psalms 55:17: “Evening and morning, and at noon, I will pray and cry aloud; and He shall hear my voice.” Daniel grew up under God’s system of worship; this was his custom and the Persian nobles knew this, which is why they made a law that would take this regular—daily away from Daniel. He knew firsthand what it meant to have the daily taken away.

“The men who had spoken to the king watched Daniel and saw him praying to his God for help. They went back to the king and said, “Didn’t you make a law that forbids anyone to pray to any god or human except you for the next thirty days?” (Dan 6:11-12)

Daniel’s and his friends’ experience in Babylon parallels ours. Worship seemed to be central to the main issues of Daniel and his friends. The other story recorded in Daniel was in regard to worship on the plain of Dura when his three friends were to kneel and worship the image to the king, this sounds a lot like Revelation. I have cited this below.

“Then a herald cried aloud: “To you it is commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, that at the time you hear the sound of the horn, flute, harp, lyre, and psaltery, in symphony with all kinds of music, you shall fall down and worship the gold image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up;” (Dan 3:4-5)

The issue in the time of the end will be the same, it will be about worship, which is what Daniel is telling us.

    In the Book of Revelation, the companion book to Daniel, John tells us the same thing;

“And they worshiped the dragon who had given its authority to the beast. They also worshiped the beast and said, “No one is like this beast! No one can fight against it.” (Rev 13:4)

“The beast was worshiped by everyone whose name wasn’t written before the time of creation in the book of the Lamb who was killed.” (Rev 13:8)

“It worked for the beast whose fatal wound had been healed. And it used all its authority to force the earth and its people to worship that beast.” (Rev 13:12)

“It was allowed to put breath into the idol—image, so that it could speak. Everyone who refused to worship the idol of the beast was put to death. All people were forced to put a mark on their right hand or forehead. Whether they were powerful or weak, rich or poor, free people or slaves, they all had to have this mark, or else they could not buy or sell anything. This mark stood for the name of the beast and for the number of its name.” (Rev 13:15-17)

“And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” (Rev 14:11)

“And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” (Rev 20:4)

Your conclusion from watching my presentation was correct; “What I gather from this article is that the Daily sacrifice” being taken away pertains to how we worship.”

yes, I absolutely believe that, at the end of time, the issue will be worship. And zeroing in on the exact issue; it is; “who will you worship?” The way you can determine who you worship is what system of worship do you follow? Will it be God’s, according to His Word or Satan’s as in traditions of men.

“Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.” (Rev 14:6-7)

      Yashua asked the Jewish leaders this question;

“He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?” (Matt 15:3)

I do think this is a preview to what God may be asking us today. How would the world fare on this question today?

Will food have anything to do with this? We only need to look to Yashua’s wilderness experience to find our answer. Did worship have anything to do with His experience with the devil? Did food enter into the picture? Food or a lack thereof has been used in the past; I rather suspect it will be used in the future as a test, if we will not bow down to worship according to the recognized system we will not eat—buy or sell. Apparently, we will not be able to buy or sell food unless we receive the mark. Yes food will have a role to play but I do not think the linguistics or the context of the word “daily” in the book of Daniel has to do with food. Context demands sanctuary and worship.

Thanks so much for your comment and question, it is worthy of study indeed.

      His Blessings to you Yael

      Tom

Sacrificing animals is the Abomination that causes desolation.

Daniel 11:31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily s a c r i f i c e, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

It is only the “daily”. The word sacrifice is in italics in the KJV because it is an addition in the translation and not included in the original Hebrew of Daniel 11:31.

The “sanctuary of strength” is the Temple Mount which in reality is the Roman Fortress Antonia

    https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/630900/jewish/Atonement-In-the-Absence-of-Sacrifices.htm
is a webpage that is answering a question about atonement. It shows their view that the “daily” is the daily prayers which is their current atonement for sins and that it is all they have without the Temple and animal sacrifice which they believe atones for sin. They want to return to animal sacrifice.

There will come a time when they will say “we will sacrifice bullocks in place of the prayers of our lips. This is what Daniel 11:31 is about.
Read Peter’s words below and you can see that sacrificing animals is what causes the Temple to be destroyed every time. Sacrificing animals is the Abomination that causes desolation.

    Recognitions_of_Clement:
Chap. xxxvi.—Allowance of sacrifice for a time.
“When meantime Moses, that faithful and wise steward, perceived that the vice of sacrificing to idols had been deeply ingrained into the people from their association with the Egyptians, and that the root of this evil could not be extracted from them, he allowed them indeed to sacrifice, but permitted it to be done only to God, that by any means he might cut off one half of the deeply ingrained evil, leaving the other half to be corrected by another, and at a future time; by Him, namely, concerning whom he said himself, ‘A prophet shall the Lord your God raise unto you, whom ye shall hear even as myself, according to all things which He shall say to you. Whosoever shall not hear that prophet, his soul shall be cut off from his people.’14
    Chap. xxxvii.—The holy place.
“In addition to these things, he also appointed a place in which alone it should be lawful to them to sacrifice to God.15 And all this was arranged with this view, that when the fitting time should come, and they should learn by means of the Prophet that God desires mercy and not sacrifice,16 they might see Him who should teach them that the place chosen of God, in which it was suitable that victims should be offered to God, is his Wisdom; and that on the other hand they might hear that this place, which seemed chosen for a time, often harassed as it had been by hostile invasions and plunderings, was at last to be wholly destroyed.17 And in order to impress this upon them, even before the coming of the true Prophet, who was to reject at once the sacrifices and the place, it was often plundered by enemies and burnt with fire, and the people carried into captivity among foreign nations, and then brought back when they betook themselves to the mercy of God; that by these things they might be taught that a people who offer sacrifices are driven away and delivered up into the hands of the enemy, but they who do mercy and righteousness are without sacrifices freed from captivity, and restored to their native land. But it fell out that very few understood this; for the greater number, though they could perceive and observe these things, yet were held by the irrational opinion of the vulgar: for right opinion with liberty is the prerogative of a few.

Daniel and his friends did not eat meat and did not drink alcohol.

Dan 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Daniel prayed “daily” – three times a day. They tried to stop him praying to YHWH and wanted to force him to worship other elohim.

Dan 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his Elohim, as he did aforetime.

Didache 8:2 Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed is Your name, Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us our daily bread for today and forgive our debts as we forgive those who owe us. Please do not lead us into a test, but deliver us from the evil one. For You have the power and the glory forever.

Pray like this three times a day.

That is an interesting perspective. Certainly, the sacrificing of animals was not God’s ideal but an accommodation He made to help people with a wrong idea of justice to be able to understand that they were forgiven.

I did not see words of Peter that you referred to.

    Daily

Well written. Thank you. I entered my Narrow Path in 2001. I always wondered why there was not even one day without me talking to God and receiving a daily portion of food from Him in the form of inspiration, insights, etc. This essay helped me to understand that I have been spontaneously practicing daily for the last 19 years, without even realizing it. Thanks a lot. Robert (Poland)

Taking away of the daily sacrifice

Jesus Christ gave the true meaning of what the “Taking away of the daily sacrifice” would be:

    Matthew.24:
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

The abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet is referring to the antichrist, Satan, who will be standing in the holy place, claiming to be the Messiah. The “holy place” is none other than the Holy of Holies, on Mt Zion where the high priest met once a year with God to atone for his sins, and the sins of all the people of the nation of Israel.

So, the taking away of the daily sacrifice is when the antichrist is installed as the messiah, and people start to worship him as Jesus Christ, instead of the true Christ. The Apostle Paul refers to this event as the great apostasy. Also, the great harlot of Revelation 17 is symbolic of this event, as the harlot sits on many waters, which is symbolic of the people. Now here’s a mystery being revealed to you:

And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH = 65 letters. 65 in biblical numerics means apostasy.

The mystery of the letters upon the forehead of the great harlot is symbolic of all the people who receive the mark of the beast, as they worship the antichrist, thinking he is the true Christ.

    Question

You state that it would be impossible to change the appointment times and yet the little horn had the Catholic Church change the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday thereby causing the saints to miss out on following His Commandments. (Leavenworth Wa)

They changed it like I could say the speed limit is twice the posted speed and drive accordingly. I have and they had no authority to (pretend to) make such a change. The Sabbath is still on Saturday.

      Sabbath and the Vatican NEW

The Catholic Catachism can be found in the resource section of the Vatican.va website; the section regarding the sabbath day commandment makes it very clear, in addition to the many other heretical commands of the church and pope, the the Vatican is very likely the little horn, and the Catholic government is very likely the adulturous church sitting kn the sea of people deceived by her crimson and purple and gold splendor and words of flattery. The Catholic Church is said to have secretly allied and supported Hitler while doing lip service to the Jews. I have read that the Catholic Churches origins began as a religious roman bank, and received powers by a religious ceasar, which shortly after began the reign of the Papal Empire. I believe it’s primary strength remains largely financial, controlling large interests in worldwide monetary policy – but this remains speculation as it has no checks and balances of power.

Sunday, according to their writing, is the first day of the week and shall be called the Lords Day and shall be celebrated while the Sabbath should be rejected, as they openly write.

I believe we are at the point in prophecy where the beast with two horns is springing up from the earth, two nations becoming anti-christian force like unto the little horn and the government of the Holy See, resembling a lamb but is not, such as Canada and America resemble Christian nations but are becoming increasingly hostile to Christ and to truth.

I have read strong arguments for Israel in prophecy being gathered unto herself again, with wars to come which will make Israel untonher former self over time. I speculate the flying scroll in prophecy to be the internet and television and the like.

If it is true that the law and the feasts and the sabbath are still meant to be obeyed and observed in thankfulness and fathfulness, 90% of Poland has sinned in their Cathlic institution of the Lords Day into Polish law, immediately following their war memorial to the Jews who continue the sabbath – unknowingly continuing is their persecution of God’s people.

      Thank you for your ministry!

The daily Sacrifice in the NT is clear.

We walk in the Spirit not in the flesh!

1Co 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

This above verse clearly states THE UNLEAVENED BREAD is SINCERITY AND TRUTH

Now the daily sacrifice in the NT is clear.

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Heb_13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

    We die daily !

So what does all this mean and how does it pertain. It means we worship God daily by dieing to ourselves daily thats our living daily sacrifce to God. We do this in Spirit and Truth , this gives glory to God this is how we praise Him.

So you can expect laws in the future to be turned on Christians to where it will be illegal to share the truth, to pray or just plain make it difficult to survive in this world. Required to work to even survive and eat to where it eats up all our time to where we are denying God and focused on things of the world.

Check out Noahide laws which will be implemented and it will be considered agasint the law punishable by death to profess Jesus Christ and share the truth in God’s word. It is coming and many are worshipping the beast now since 1948 and if you say anything against them its considered anti semetic hate speech. This is the antichrist beast speaking and many are blasphemously worshipping this antichrist system now. The beast is reveived since 1948 and that beast existed in JEsus Christs day and killedm Him and his followers and it received a mortal wound in 70 a.d. and it has revived. They are currently working day and night in the news through propaganday to do away with free speech making it hate speech or antisemetism they call it to speak Gods truth to the world about antichrists. Eventually it will laws punishable by death. He who has ears to hear let him hear.

Unlocks a lot of meaning in crucial passages

EXCELLENT explanation of Daniel’s visions and the now, by Christians, overlooked importance of keeping the Law handed down in the Old Testament. Christ told us that he did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it. Christians are not taught to pray three times a day today. Priests and pastors may say the daily office but most Christians model after the Lord’s prayer and devise their own prayers. Paul says to “Pray without ceasing” but praying three times a day puts one in a prayerful state of mind all day. It makes no sense that God would be so specific in the Old Testament about what He wanted his people to do and then say “Oh, that’s over. Never mind.” in the new. Our freedom in Christ includes adapting those laws to the reality that the Messiah has already come, that no animal sacrifices are required now that the Sacred Lamb of God has been offered.

When Jesus mentioned the abomination of desolation in Matthew 24,He was referring to the antichrist. I understand that Jesus fulfilled the law, in terms of repentance in Jesus’ name replacing animal sacrifice for forgiveness of sins. What I’m saying is, how does the antichrist take away the daily sacrifice? He takes it away by deceiving people to believe that he’s the true Christ. You have to symbolically understand what the daily sacrifice means. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God that took away the sin of the world. Spiritual speaking, if people start worshiping the antichrist, thinking he’s the true Christ, he symbolically takes away the daily sacrifice.
